Pam Gosal, Scottish Conservative candidate for Clydebank and Milngavie, this week raised her concerns over the record number of drug deaths recently recorded in the area.
In a letter to the SNP Minister for Public Health, Mrs Gosal highlighted the fact that drug deaths in West Dunbartonshire have doubled between 2019-2021.
The Scottish Conservative hopeful called on Mr. Fitzpatrick to take action to fix this “national tragedy” as a matter of urgence.
Scottish Conservative candidate for Clydebank and Milngavie, Pam Gosal, commented:
“These are not just numbers and statistics – they are people lives. As a mother, sister, aunt, and cousin, I know the pain that this will have brought many families, and the toll that it would have on their mental health. It is shocking that the SNP Government has allowed so many to lose their lives or to be faced with such loss, when it could have been avoided.
“This is a national tragedy and we can’t let this continue. The Scottish Government must take meaningful action to fix this.”
